Deep Tactics in Blitz

Sergey Karjakin won the 2016 World Blitz Championship on tiebreaks ahead of Magnus Carlsen, and one of the key games on his way to victory came in the antepenultimate round against the ultra-solid Peter Leko. In a position where not much seemed to be happening, Karjakin found an incredibly deep tactical idea that bamboozled his opponent, who like Karjakin also came very close to winning the World Championship. Karjakin was justifiably proud of the game afterward, and when you see some of the beautiful variations you will understand why.
